Enhanced Photoluminescence of Electrodeposited Europium Complex on Bare and Terpyridine-Functionalized Porous Si Surfaces

The trivalent Eu(III) ion exhibits unique red luminescence and plays an significant role in the display industry. Herein, amperometry electrodeposition method was employed to electrodeposit materials on porous Si terpyridine-functionalized surfaces. electrodeposited were fully characterized by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction crystallography, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, photoelectron spectroscopy. Photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy revealed that PL signals substantially increased upon deposition mainly due direct excitation charge-transfer-indirect excitations before after thermal annealing, respectively. as-electrodeposited of a complex consisting OH, H2O, NO3?, CO32? groups. transformed Eu2O3 annealing at 700 °C. surfaces provide invaluable information fabrication thin films for displays, as well photoelectrodes catalyst applications.
